Single-threaded account

A single-threaded account is a customer relationship that runs through one contact, one seller, or both. All of the trust, context, and momentum in the partnership travels along that single thread, so when either person changes roles or leaves, the connection that held the account together goes with them. Revenue from a single-threaded account tends to carry more risk than the forecast shows.

    Why it matters

Multi-threading the relationship, building several working connections between your team and the customer's, keeps the partnership standing through personnel changes on either side.
